About We-Ko-Pa Golf Club - Cholla Course (Fountain Hills, AZ)
Located in Fountain Hills, on the east edge of Scottsdale, We-Ko-Pa (the Yavapai pronunciation for "Four Peaks Mountain") presents a unique alternative to the already upscale Scottsdale golf market. Designed by noted golf course architect Scott Miller, the golf course was created to play a challenging 7,225 yards from the back tees, but with multiple tee boxes that are well spaced to cater to players of all calibers. In addition, there are no -- nor will there ever be -- residences on the golf course, yielding some of the most dramatic and natural views of the surrounding mountain ranges including the Four Peaks, McDowell Mountains, Red Mountains and the Superstitions.

Great courses, but Cholla course is an overall better course in my opinion. I played both courses and Saguaro course may be a tougher course overall, but playability condition was not in as good shape as the Cholla course, probably due to overseeding taking place. It would be nice to replay the Saguari course in prime condition to make a fair analysis. However, I would definitely play We - Ko - Pa again.

Awesome course. Loved it. Only negative was we were pressured by staff a couple times to play faster even though we were playing a reasonable pace of 4:15. We would prefer not to fly across the country to race around the course because the group behind us plays the short tees and picks up any putt within 5 feet. This constant pressure seems to a theme running through the reviews of this course. Other than that it was amazing.

Great course but too difficult for someone of my skill level especially this early in the year. I've played the "other" 18 at We Ko Pa and if I went back, that is the 18 I'd choose to play. It is more forgiving. This course was not....plus it had some quirks I did not like. But, it was beautiful and in great shape!
